3 Minute Review: The Guardians of the Neighborhood

The Guardians of the Neighborhood

Summary:

Fuzby is one of many stray cats who live in the Neighborhood, but she’s far from neighborly. Unfortunately for the creatures around her, that’s just how she likes it. Nothing brings this scrappy cat more joy than being number one! But when a mysterious short cat suddenly appears and threatens her dominance, Fuzby must team up with a young kitten named Charlie and flee from her home. Together they face all sorts of challenges: fish, schools, and even water! But Fuzby soon realizes that her biggest challenge is dealing with herself.

Intended ages according to author/publisher:

The recommended reading age for The Guardians of the Neighborhood is 8-12 years, and I agree! I think that my younger siblings would love reading this story.

Violence:

A few cat fights are mentioned, but the scenes are not vividly gory or bloody. The cats gain a few scratches, but that is all.

Language:

None. There is no foul language used in this story.

Relationship/Morality:

There are no romantic relationships portrayed in this story. The story is very friend-based relationships.

Magic or Spiritual Realms:

There is no magic used in The Guardians of the Neighborhood. It is set in the present day, in a regular neighborhood.

Intense Scenes:

The most intense scene would be when two of the cat characters fight, both verbally and physically.
